One day a student was walking on the road from school. He was an expert in sports, so people would call him, " Sports Expert Student". The wind that blew was cool and pleasant and the scent of wildflowers was in the air. He hummed as he walked home pass the time. Other than the sounds of nature it was silent. Suddenly he heard a cat cry. He went off in search of it and finally found a fat cat behind a bush.
After looking at the fat cat carefully he found that she was actually injured. It seemed like the cat was attacked by another animal. When the student reached out his hand to the cat scratch him, he saw that her eyes were filled with pain and fear. He called out to her soothingly and the cat perked up ears after she realized that the student wanted to help, so she called out to him again.
The boy smiled as he patted and her and she purred. He slowly picked her so as not to startle her but, there was no need because the cat now trusted him. After picking her up he walked down the road and turned in to a lane.
At end of the lane stood a small house that seemed less like a house and more like an abandoned shelter. Out in the front, stood a sign board that seemed like it would fall at any moment, the paint was also peeling off. He pushed the door open and as it swung open it made enough noise to wake up the neighborhood. The view said was nothing less than surprising. It was almost pitch black, dusty and humid. The floor was piled on with books of all sizes. In the deepest end of the room was a table and a chair. On the chair one could see the silhouette of something round. The shape was indescribable. The student shouted, "Doctor!! wake up!!". And a loud crash like sound was made and the silhouette got up and walked to him stumbling around.
When some light finally fell on him, his figure was that of a fat man and graying hair. His job was that of a vet and he seemed to be very diligent because after explaining things he quickly looked at the cat and fixed her up.
The boy carried the cat back home. She looked around to see her new surroundings, the roads forking up endlessly and the sweet scent of flowers was all over the air. Finally they had reached the student's home.
It was out in the valley, far away from the noise of the village. The student's family owned a farm. The farm had lots of animals living in it. There were cows and buffaloes, cocks and hens and pigs as well. The student took the cat in and showed her to his parents. They both laughed when they saw how fat she was. a few days later, after the cat had all healed up she had been exploring round her new home. And the one animal that she was very close to was a black cow. The black cow was gentle. and whenever the cow was out the field the fat cat was never far behind. Soon the boy too ended up joining the two and they all became close friends who were always together and were soon known by everyone as the "The Three Friends".
